Campground is right on the beach.  County park.  Small camping spots, no grills or fire pites on sites.  Grills are located in the beach front location with picinic tables under the austrain pines.  If you want to be on the beach, you can't ask for a better spot.  Great cheeseburgers and cold beer and resturant right across the street.

The campsite are along a river and in the scrubs and pine flatwoods.  Nice size private sites.  Fifteen miles of trails through these beautiful natural areas provide opportunities for hiking, bicycling, and wildlife viewing. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle along South Creek, a blackwater stream that flows to the Gulf of Mexico. Canoe and kayak rentals are available.


Oscar Scherer State Park is located on US 41, 2 miles south of Osprey, FL. Traveling south from Tampa on I-75, take exit 200 (old 36) to US 41. Traveling north from Ft. Meyers on I-75, take exit 195 (old 35A) to US 41.
